Good ole KMFDM has been a mainstay in the 'industrial' scene for so many years now, and while they do seem to sometimes go off on a tangent with their sound; they are undeniably determined to keep making music that's loud and has a statement. This album Brimborium is a remix album of last years Tohuvabohu, which in my opinion was full of hits and misses. It wasn't a bad release, but it wasn't one of their greater releases. Brimborium thankfully makes up for any shortcomings that Tohuvabohu may have had.

The remixer line-up is quite impressive with this album, and each delivers a great take on the original song. The majority of the tracks are upbeat, beat heavy, guitar-infused club floor fillers. The remix of Tohuvabohu by Combichrist is a wonderful example of what the release has to offer. High BPM's and looped guitars aggresively start the song off, leading into the vocals which slow the song a bit; and then it abruptly reverts back to the high speed beat to thrash us around some more.

I have no complaints about any of the tracks, and would suggest anyone looking for a good danceable disc; check out this album. There are plenty of highlights from Die Krupps highly infectious electro-ish version of Looking for Strange, to the stomping and over-powering beats on the Headcase remix done by Angelspit. Even the slower paced remix of I Am What I Am by Steve White, which always makes me believe it's from a soundtrack of a movie; finds itself fitting in well to an album of otherwise fast-paced and/or heavy sounding music. (The soundtrack comparison is a compliment to how crisp and professionally done the sound is by the way).

The album ends with a compilation of voicemails left by KMFDM fans providing their praise for the group and their music. It's an interesting way to end the album, and very fitting for a group which has been bringing 'industrial music' lovers enjoyment for more then two decades. The KMFDM group in it's many forms over the years, has kindly kept coming back to provide the fans another slice of musical bliss or chaos to our lives (whichever you prefer). So in closing I really have one statement to make, which I guess is more a qquestion. For those who don't own the this release yet, what the hell are you waiting for?!?
